Default Well, I put pen to paper last night...

since I'm 16, I don't have to pay for rent or anything, just my car. Then, the thought of building up a 2.3 NG came into my head. I sat down and thought up what appears to be quite the mill for the CGT...

-start with stock NG motor.
-slighty bore the motor over
-add larger pistons
-add the stroker kit mentioned earlier in here
-since the donor is a '92, chip the motor
-add 272 cam
-freer-flowing cat-back exhaust

Now, I can get the cash for this in a matter of time, that's not an issue. The issue is, is this even feasible? It would be interesting to see what would become of the docile 2.3 after it had been built 'severely' such as that. Can anyone estimate a possible horsepower number for that motor? My guess is a conservative 170. Is this possible? I suppose anything is possible, but is it even feasible? Thanks for any input, and the subsequent flaming that I'll receive for this.

:-)

Default Gotta factor in insurance rates...

I shouldn't have to report any of those mods to the company, but if I strap a huge Ko4 or something on there, my rates would kill me, I'd probably be canceled as well.

Default A K04 isn't huge.

It's only slightly bigger than the anemic little K03 on the 1.8T. If you want huge, get a K27.

Default Well, let's see:

I'm driving around what's known as a NA 2.3. Then, let's say that I got into a wreck that was my fault. When it's discovered that I have a nice little mod called a 'turbo'...well, let's just say that I'll not have any more insurance.

Default OK, gentlemen, turbo is out for now, please comment on the non-turbo plans...

Would all that I want to do with that motor work out?

-start with stock NG motor.
-slighty bore the motor over
-add larger pistons
-add the stroker kit mentioned earlier in here
-since the donor is a '92, chip the motor
-add 272 cam
-freer-flowing cat-back exhaust
