Increasing the valves sizes to 41mm intake and 35mm exhaust (if they'll fit) a radical solid lifter 306° cam, ported head, ported intake manifold, custom exhaust header, 2.5" exhaust (no cat) flowmaster or staight through "silencer".
I can see 200hp at the crank @ 7000rpm.
you can forget about low end torque and the stock F.I. couldn't hanlde the cam (you'd have to go w/aftermarket fulie)!!
Now if you got a euro van "long rod" block, bored it to 82.5mm and got a 95.5mm stroker crank (92.8mm is stock), you'd have 2550cc and be able to achieve 200hp. with a milder setup for the head....
Of course, you could get 200hp. with a stock MC2 turbo engine, chip and wastegate spring!!!

Unless you have a hefty bank account ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
A LOT of involved machine work would have to be done, and unless you can do it, it will be expensive.
The 10vt engine swap is the least expensive in terms of HP for dollar spent. Next Audi I buy there is no doubt I will go the turbo route.
Actually now that I think about it more, im going to spend the next hour brining up a engine sheet in desktop dyno to see what it would take for 200hp on the 2.3 ng/nf
Goodluck!
*dreaming of a supercharger* (yes Ive been swayed by the domestic side that superchargers are better)

I punched in some numbers... Boring out a little, major porting, inreasing compression 11:1 flattop pistons (would be tough on pump gas). A good EFI system, 276 cam w\max lift, CUSTOM INTAKE/Manifold. Large tube headers, etc etc.. Dyno shows 189 (flywheel). Have my doubts of course. (not sure if the cam lift I have would actually work with the shaved block/head 10.16mm.) Maybe ill post a screenshot.

shooting for 200+ hp will also mean moving to a newer FI system (ie not K-jet). If you got the bucks you can get some CC's from Eurospec or some flow via Blau's JT head. Now what I want to know is will the JT head fit on the VW Vanagon short block... think that would be good for 160 HP??

eurospec blocks
