I've got a piece of weatherstripping that was held on by foam tape, which has come loose and caused the weatherstripping to sag(it's the piece across the top of the windshield). I've got some good adhesive to put it back up with, but I need to get the old stuff off first. Any suggestions? I don't have access to professional-strength stuff, rubbing alcohol doesn't work, and sanding will take too long. TIA.

I have used "goof-off", and also wax remover, we sell some stuff here at work, but mainly buy an adhesive remover, and sticker remover, and let that stuff just soak in like crazy, try to cut off what you can ,like with a small razor, just rewax any exposed painted surface, Jamie

do you have a auto body supply store around you?
they should carry some stuff called 3m adhesive remover or some thing in the same ball park area . this stuff works great
it cleans off all achesive based materials and then preps the surface for remounting all in one step!!!
