on my '874kq, the headlight switch has been getting sticky. Now, I have to massage it a bit before the heater control lights come on. (A bummer at night when needing to adjust temp.) Early sign of having to replace the switch? Signed, still a noobie in 4kq land.

A couple weeks ago someone mentioned that their headlight switch had totally melted, and he said that before it melted it had been acting funny, i'll see if i can dig up that thread.
edit: well i can't seem to find the exact thread, but it looks like you(and I!) should relay our headlights before the switch melts

You can pull theswitch out of the cluster... it's relatively easy to do so. inspect all wiring for signs of wear. re-insulate individual wires as nec. a bit of elec lube on the dimmer thingie wouldn't hurt.
If U do this right away, it may save you big $$$$ in re-wiring probs. Force five has good prices on good used switches.

FWIW: When the euros went in, so did a 4-relay system. Hopefully this problem will not be a recurring one, at least no more so than a "stock" 4kq. I can't wait for the snow to bring the love back to this car!
