Default It's not too hard

if you have an in-car bearing presser. If not, you have to balance the whole strut, ect while you press it out manually.

Default Re: wheel bearing

I replaced a rear wheel bearing with the strut still in the car. I rented the bearing removal tool for $20 where I bought the bearing. The circlips are a real b**** to get out(be sure to get new ones with the bearing), mine were seriously rusted in place. Yes, it's possible, it rates right up there in 'testing your patience' but is manageable if you're used to working on Audi's.

Default If you have one, ..

Use one of those infared thermometers. After a long drive 25-30 min, point it at the bearing on each side. If one is way hotter than the other one, it's bad.
