But you would need the older style light switches/harness and the plastic frame around the gauges (under the shroud) to make it work. You'd probably want to paint the shroud black to match the newer style dash.

dash.
Unless you want to cut up the dash & newly purchased surround and try to make them fit, but then why not just build a '85-'87 surround for less effort.

Not mention I've ridden in it once before too!
It is the old school taxi surround on a late model dash. Notice the early style switches in the surround (kinda hard to see I know). I talked to Ken Bennett at length about it, how do you think I know what parts are required to make it fit? It's in Dean Treadways URQ BTW.

<i>'85- '87 Coupe, 4000 dash extension with 3 gauges inside this 2Bennett built urQuattro with dash update.
</i>
But if you say you've seen (& ridden in) it 1st hand I'll believe ya.
How did they fill the gaps in the difference on the shape of the dashes? Think you could get some pics from the passenger side angle next time you see his car?<ul><li><a href="http://2bennett.com/body_audi_gauges.html">http://2bennett.com/body_audi_gauges.html</a</li></ul>
