Default Do you have a clearer picture?

Its been a long time, but I can look closer this weekend.

I remember Phillips screws for the headlights top and bottom - slipping a screw driver between the grille and bumper top chrome trim.......

Do the bumper bolts go up like the 100/200/5000 from below? I don't have ETKA to look.

Default See below picture...

Thats the stock H1+H4 bracket mounted showing the lower screws, the metal trim and bumper are off of the car. The two lower screws are the ones I'm trying to get off. This project has been put on hold however, the leaking radiator is a tad more important at the moment. The stock DOT (and Euro H4s) use a two piece bracket, the lower bracket is the one I can't get off the car at the moment. Full size pictures that I took last night are at the link.

The bumper bolts on the US spec Type 85s are behind the reflectors. Two T40 bolts on each side. I can't get them out, they likely have to be drilled out.

http://www.njroads.org/albums/audi4000/</a

Default Interesting...

Both part numbers for the brackets show up as being available in the US according to impex. I'll check it out on ETKA to see if another model uses them.

Default I just went through this two weeks ago, yes you do have to pull the bumper for the euro brackets....

I also swapped out all of the front ss trim pieces while I was at it from my parts car. Out of the 8 Torx bolts I pulled, one stripped out on my daily driver and I ended up having to drill it out. It took about 30 minutes to drill out the one bolt so hopefully you don't have to resort to that for all 4. Once the head had popped off, the bolt spun freely and backed right out.

Default Fun stuff

One out of the 3 bolts came out without a problem, go figure. I will try to get the others out after the Deep Creep sets in.

Default hit 'em w/ a lil torch heat as well...

helps break the rust as they expand/contract. Just do it sparingly so you don't melt the bumper
