So, Im looking for a good set of wheels to use as winter wheels. below are a couple of partial sets that I found at the local junk yard. The first is only a set of 2, so I would need two more obviously. They were offered on both the CGT and the 4k correct?
The second photo is of 3 vw wheels. I have no idea what they are off of, but they look great. If I could find one more of these I would buy them in a heartbeat. Not sure what they're off of but I'd like to know.

Does any one have any good ideas for a set of 4x100-14" wheels that will be durable and keep snow out of the wheel?
Thanks,
-Daniel

It depends...
If your car is 1984 or earlier and isn't a quattro then it's 4x100. I forget when the Coupe GT went to 4x108, but it was either the 1985 or 86 model year. Quattro is always 4x108 as far as I know. Easiest way to tell? Measure from the center of one lug to the center of the lug opposite. Even if you can't measure exactly, the 8mm difference will be obvious.
For winter 4x100 I was going to suggest some Golf steelies, but they're 13". Really durable though and they keep junk out of the brakes pretty well:

Otherwise I would just get what you can. I like steel better for the winter, but of course they're usually pretty boring. Make sure the offset is right, but a good number of Japanese cars still use 4x100. If you have 4x108 then there are other options...

Not sure what you are referring to by larger... as long as the bolt pattern is the same and your tires are not rubbing on your fenders, you should be good. Keep in mind, you are using them for winter so you probably want a bit of clearance. Nothing wrong with 14s or even 15s.

Pretty much any VW through '89 had 4x100 and the right offset. I don't think they used 4x108 at all. But all your Golfs, Jettas, Rabbits, Dashers, et cetera, will have what you're looking for.
I think they've since moved to 5-lug wheels exclusively, much like Audi did.

lol...I was referring to the "larger" vw cars. That helps though. Ill keep my eyes open for any vw wheels from the '80s. Do you guys have any idea what car the second set of wheels came off of?
Thanks,
Dan
