Default "BRAKE" light stays on all the time, fluctuates while driving. What is it?

This is the light that actually says "BRAKE" The fluid is ok. It stays on when I start the car and used to go out after a minute.....then 5 minutes.....now if stays on all the time and sort of fluctuates when I hit the brakes, go over a bump, etc.

Default it can also be due to the brake bomb going bad. check the fluid first, but

a brake bomb replacement is a wonderful idea too!

Default The brake bomb is a "reservoir" that supplements the pump

The output of the power steering pump is pulsed; the bomb (properly speaking, the "accumulator") smooths the system pressure between pulses. (Think of a filter capacitor's function in the DC output of an AC powered DC power supply.)

Since replacing my 5000CSTQ's bomb, the brakes feel and (I guess) work better.

In the event of a full bore emergency stop, the bomb assists in providing pressure that the pump can't provide by itself.

Default the ability of braking hard was dramatically increased when i replaced the bomb in my car....

pedal had a lot more feel to it and the clutch wasn't nearly so stiff. it's a safety and ergonomic fix!

second the pentosin.....just topped mine up because of intermittent brake light and now, no more light and better braking. steers better too!

Default I do notice my brakes are pretty stiff.... maybe i will replace it

My brake light comes on if i sit idle for about 3 minutes, but never when driving, im pretty sure the bomb is bad cause when i turn off the car the brakes go hard as a rock.

Default there used to be...haven't seen that for a long time.

i'd ask on the q-list on audifans.

anything under $250 is a good deal for a new brake bomb. i paid $200 when blau was having a sale. cheapest i've ever seen one.
