"BRAKE" light stays on all the time, fluctuates while driving. What is it?

There was a guy named Ross Southerlin...

In Colorado who used to recharge them.

I had one done about 3-4 years ago.

Haven't seen him post so I don't know if he still does this service...

Check brake or power steering fluid levels...

My 200 is doing the same thing..

Pardon me for being a noob to this forum but why would the power steering fluid level turn on the brake light? My 200tqa has been doing the same thing and recently the light is just on all the time. I had just replaced the rear pads before it started doing this and compressing the pistons back into the calipers increased the fluid level. I was pretty certain it wasn't low when the light started flashing and I checked the level again. It was fine. My car does have a power steering fluid leak somewhere in the system so I'm just wondering why the brake light comes on if the fluid is low? I guess I need to check the ps fluid level again.
