i've only got 2 more years give or take a little......oh boy. any words of wisdom for an ME/auto E major? oh yeah, how's the SAE car looking? i'm not gonna make the competition this year unfortunately. good luck there too!

It's still teething...But it'll get all taken care of ;-)
My advice? Make sure you have some fun, pick your classes wisely so you can do what you want. That's one of the reasons I started throwing Aero classes in! Get enough sleep too, I don't know how many nights I was up late, only to turn work in that ended up not being important in the end. Networking is everything, so get/make contacts (FSAE leadership positions really help with that). I'm sure you know that already though

say you have an 11/32nds tire... worn down to 5/32nds. Times 2 is the diameter difference.. 12/32nds. Times 3.14 for circumference, and you're already over an inch different in circumference just from being a little worn.

With a 1st gen quattro, that is NEVER run with locked diffs, a small difference is negligible if you replace in two's. On 2nd-4th gen cars, I would only ever replace them four at a time...The TorSen center is not designed for the difference in rolling radius. As a note, the 959 uses slightly taller tires up front than out back, to help keep the static torque split at a certain %, which eliminates an odd driveline noise. Wierd, but whatever!
