Default 1990 200tq a great car (kinda long)

While going on a ski trip with my son who is home from college, we traveled north into NY state. At about the 85 miles from home my son is driving and a sudden hesitation and a pop occurred. we go into a corner and the steering is gone all dash lights are on and he says " no Brakes". Well the brake pedal wasnt to the floor so we were working off the booster. we go about 5 miles more to a small town and pull over, yep all the belts are gone. The Hell with it, lets get it home. We get on 390s and head for home at about 60 mph to conserve the gas which we are low on and figuring to get about 20 miles a gallon we should make it. My son is calling home on the cell phone, mother is going fantic saying"YOu pull the car over now" Yeah right. we call about 3 more times on the statis and where they can pick us up. Im trying to make to the Audi mechanics house. WE get about 1 miles from our turn off on route 15 and the car starts bucking. The volt meter is way down passed any numbers. Battery is about spent and fuel pump is feeling it. The car get us to our exit and we coast in to the stop sign. call home to tell them where we are, call AAA twice, cell phone about spent, tow truck contacted thru AAA, and there we sit about a mile from the mechanics house.DAMN. While sitting ther waiting I plug in the cell to see if it will charge. In 10 minutes the phone is charged. Put the key in and the car starts showing just under 9 on the volt meter, Hell I can make it!!!!!!Father in law shows up my son goes to get 5 gallons of gas. tow truck guy calls on the cell, I tell him the story and I think I can make it. He says go for it. I start the car up we make to the mechanics house and leave the car, hes not home. About 3 hours later i give him a call to tell hime about the car, and hes already got it fixed. $60.00. I doubt if there are to many cars out there with about 200,000 miles on it or any miles on it that would do what this great car did. GET US HOME.
OH one more thing, to preface this story, before the trip I went down to my office, doing 45 in a 35 got pulled over by a local, and he let me go. saying Merry Christmas.

You threw all your belts? A/C compressor bolts loose? I went through this in a couple of my Audi's. Just get a V8 and you only have to worry about 1 belt.
