My tranny is shifting extremly hard from 3 - 4 gear. It's like an instant shift that makes the car lurch pretty good. Can't be normal.. Other shifts seem fine.. Can anyone shed some light on what could be wrong? Are there any good books with diagrams of how these trannies work and the rebuild procedure? Does Audi make the trans in this car and what is the model number of it?

I have not ever washed the engine.. Where is the "wet throttle position sensor"? In the front? I have heard others talk about some type of modulator. Only hard shift is the 3 - 4.. The rest seem normal to me.. 3-4 is a slam.. Like a valve body valve that's supposed to have a spring behind it and doesn't. I dunno.. Is there a way to check internal pressure to determine leak? I have purchased a new filter I had intended to install.. Should I not bother? Also, is there a procedure I can follow to get most of the oil out of the trans for a change? Seems < 1/3 comes out when you drop the pan..
