Default Check the bellows where the wires go from the body to the driver's door.

Very common for these wires to break.

Default Careful in there...

Some of those wires are always hot. BTDTx2
If you ground out the wrong ones, things might get ugly.

Correct a mundo!

Mine did it there.
No windows, no sunroof
The thicker wire is the GROUND for the switches.
Ground it to the door frame to make them work.
Should be the same as touching the wires together.
No fuse a thermal reset AFAIK.

Butt splice won't do it for long..........

Wait till its nice outside, figure 1/2 day or so, best to solder, add splice and heat shrink tubing.

Default Marine grade stranded wire. More (tinned) strands = more flexibility.

From http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/learningcenter/car/marine/faq.html#7

"Other considerations include the gauge of wire you need to use. SAE-rated wire (Society of Automotive Engineers) is often a smaller diameter than AWG-rated wire (American Wire Gauge), even though the two wires may be labeled the same gauge. AWG-size cables are better-suited for marine applications, especially those labeled "boat cable" on the insulation. Finally, there's cable "type," which merely indicates how many strands are found in each wire. A Type 1 cable, for example, is either a single solid strand or just a few strands. Type 1 cables are not recommended for boat applications. Type 2 wires have anywhere from 19 strands to 127 strands, depending on the gauge, in this case running from 16-gauge down to 0-gauge. Type 2 wires can be used for any general purpose wiring job on your boat, such as speaker wire. Type 3 cables have considerably more stranding than Type 2. For the same gauge range (16-0), Type 3 wires may include 26-1,064 strands. Type 3 wires are used in applications that see a lot of bending, flexing, or jostling, as the more strands a wire has, the longer it will last with frequent flexing."

Good marine stores sell good marine grade stranded wire. Compare it to SAE stranded wire and you'll see that it's more flexible. (As a bonus, the tinning improves the wire's ability to withstand oxidation and heat.)<ul><li><a href="http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/learningcenter/car/marine/faq.html#7">http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/learningcenter/car/marine/faq.html#7</a</li></ul>
