Default 200 20v pressure plate: how much tq are u running on stock?

Hi guys.

I've got a 20vT coupe quattro with the 200 20v sport pressure plate. I like the setup.

I just bought a A8 v8 for the sedan, and I'm thinking of running the same setup again.

Do you think that the 3b unit will handle 300tq
from 3000-4000rpm?

Thanks
Josh

Default I should think you would be fine. I know the stock clutch has been used to 400HP

and the engine on the 20v is pretty torquey - even with a chip you're getting pretty close to 300 ft/lbs as far as I know.

While I was doing my clutch/FW I figured I may as well throw in something a little more aggressive... so I am going SPEC 3. I've heard a lot of nightmares about SPEC as a company, but the order had already been made and it was too late to change once the information had come to my attention.

Default Javad had posted some 200q20v clutch bits for sale over on Motorgeek.com...

Might want to wander over there and see what he has...

Default Spec had poor results w/ the bi-tubo guys

from what I heard. If you're looking for a new clutch check out Southbend clutches. I replaced my stock unit w/ one after it wore out and am very happy w/ it. Check the Ur-S forum for a bunch of posts about them.

http://www.dxdracingclutches.com/home.html</a

Default Re: SPEC BTDT

That was an isolated incdent with the self adjusting mechanism on the B5 2.7t pressure plates that has long been resolved, we run SPEC clutches in all of our cars and have sold hundreds of sets to satisfied customers.

Trust me, we wouldn't sell a problematic product, as you can imagine, its just not worth selling parts that either don't work or come back and require refunds, etc, product like that will put a company out of business!
