Default 200 QT - Voltage Regulator 90 vs 110 amp

I've searched thru some of the old posts but couldn't find info on if the 90 amp and 110 amp VR is the same or different. The voltage has been going to 16V lately. In the summer it went down to 11V while driving (w everything on). I verified the actucal reading using a volt meter in the cig lighter and direct to the batt.
Thanks

Default They have different part numbers

I had a spare new 90 Amp regulator and was tempted to install it in a 110 Amp alternator, but both Audi and Worldpac assign different part numbers to the 90 and 110 Amp voltage regulators.

They do seem to interchange physically, though.

I didn't check the current ratings of the VRs' large TO-3 transistors, but I'm sure that the VRs have different part numbers for a good reason: they aren't interchangeable.
