Default 200T AUTO TRANNY

To cut a ,long story short, I have decided to get a complete overhaul done - clutches, seals, the works - out-of-car, back-in-car, for AUD1250.
Otherwise, the Mrs is just revving the guts out of the vehicle at the moment, and will end up stranded, and I will end up in deep fertilizer.
So, out of the hip pocket - into the tranny mech's pocket, and a new tranny!!
He warned against putting the Tranny Honey in when new, as he said it siftens the seals, but then keeps on softening until they collapse in a gluguous heap!!

Default Re: Good...

I think this is the best decision. Doing the overhaul a month or two later will help ypur car at all. Better fix this AT soon.
I hope your mechanic knows his stuff and Audi ATs.

I wouldn't put any AT fluid additives in the new/rebuilt transmission. Why "help" the seals when they are going to be new anyways? Could be a bad idea. Just keep the fluid always fresh and it will preserve them.
