Is it a common issue for the cable connecting the outside handle to the locking mechanism to snap for this model? Since it has, (front) door will only open from the inside and the window hits the cable inside the door if lowered.
What's the best place to find a replacement / steps to repair this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Yes it is common for the door cable to snap off at the ends. A new cable from the dealer is preferred replacement. Some lubrication in the latch mechanism is probably needed. Just count yourself lucky you are still able to open the door! Driver door cable pn# 443837081C http://genuineaudiparts.com Door panel has to come off to gain access to the cable.
