2113 - Starts & runs fine... for about 10 seconds

This is an '89 200 MC1.
Then she dies and has to sit before re-firing. Does this sound typical of a bad Hall trigger? I've searched a lot, but most people with a 2113 have a no-start situation. A reman'd distributor is on order for Monday.
Also had a code for the coolant temp sensor 2312. The single wire sensor at the very front of the head checks out ok though. This wouldn't be one of those in the water neck would it?

Start with the code that apears first often one problem will cause more than one code to appear, so fix the first one clear codes then see if other code apears again. There is often a coolant sensor for the guage on the dash and one for the ecm, make sure to test the ecm one. on the crank sensor your right it usaully is a no start condition, but a visual inspection for loose conections or damage wire would be good.

The wiring is suspect, but this thing is very consistent over and over. Runs 10-12 seconds (around 1k rpms) and dies abruptly.
2113 came out first. We'll put in a new dizzy and recheck for more codes.

It would vibrate the motor just enough so that the wiring would lose continuity at the plug on the dizzy, and the car would stumble severely and almost stall. Replaced the hall sender, and all is good now.

Distributor connection can get intermittent and cause the same symptom - check the plug at the distributor and make sure the wires are not frayed/cracked/broken. Same thing for the plug itself.

Yep - it must be a wiring problem on the distributor side of the plug. The wires from the sensor are not happy looking. Hopefully this might get it out on the streets

If you did, it may be running way rich and dying out (since it is no longer trying to solve the problem of the lean mixture). I had a big old air leak on my old TQW and when I cured all the unmetered air leaks, the thing ran rich as all get out. Had to back off on the FI base mixture.

Steve - we are waiting on that part to come in. I think the owner ordered from Blau. We removed the hose, and have the metal line capped temporarily.

But I forget which way to turn the allen head adjustment screw on the fuel distributor.

We're just gonna see if we can clear these codes. I'm afraid to tinker with the base mixture if we're gonna put that hose back on next week. Or am I just paranoid?
