5000S KZ no start : Help!
I removed the exhaust, recharged battery, and got
the same problem : cranks but does not start.
I have OK FPR/CSV/pump, spark, ICU, coil,
plugs/rotors/timed-to-spec/dizzy OK, compression/
plate/plunger.
Is it normal for a properly-timed engine to
backfire every 5 cycles (i.e. if it doesn't
start) ? I disconnected fuel pump relay to prevent
flooding.
Also, anyone have a photo of where the coil ground
wire connects to the valve cover/engine block ?
TIA

I don't understand ... Did you 'disconnect the fuel pump relay' before you tried to start? If yes, that might be an issue.
Backfiring might be caused by incorrect valve timing.

Spray starter fluid into the air intake...
If it fires up then it's most likely a fuel issue. If it doesn't then it's a ignition or timing issue...
