My "87 5000 non-turbo radiator fan won't shut off after it has cooled the engine down. It runs the battry down to nothing. This is an intermitent problem, but it will leave me straned. The temp gauge stays in the normal range, so no over heating. The fan seams to come on when it should with the A/C in use. Any help out there??
Thanks

I think I found the problem, there is an underhood temp sensor that is attached at the back of the cylinder head. It measures the underhood temp and if its too high, it will turn the fan on until the temp is reduced. I disconected the 2 wires going to it and have'nt had a problem yet. I'll see if a new one is availble and replace it.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

which screws into the bottom of the radiator. It is located very low on the firewall side of the radiator close to the block.. Impossible to see, but not that difficult to R & R.
