Default 93 Audi V8 gauges

I seem to be having some electrical/sensor problems, My brake light will often stay on for a while after I start driving, and the brake is definitely not on. Also my airbag and seatbelt light go on and off at random times, accompanied by my temperature and gas gauges dropping to zero. Has anyone heard of this before or have any idea what is wrong?

Try unplugging the instrument cluster connectors. Sometimes unplugging and plugging the connectors back in will replenish the connection.
If that doesn't do the trick I would suggest re soldering the connector pins at the boards.

Never really heard of instrument cluster wackiness with 4.2 cars. All the 4.2 cluster boards i have seen have had the earlier issue of wackiness resolved with the use of ribbon wire.

Do you know where I can find the connector plugs and try that?

Thanks

There connected to the back of the instrument cluster. U have to take the dash pad off.

There are many 4mm allen head bolts to remove.
first remove the top section of the clamshell 2x phillips screws from underneath.
Once thats removed u can remove the small allen head bolt.
remove the phone speaker covers. use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry up (on the speaker part NOT the grill part). Remove 2x phillips screws.
There's one in the center of the defrost vent.
There's one in the vents...one to the Left of the steering wheel, one in the center and one above the glove box.
And there should b one rite above the inside of the sweep of the dash pad...if ur looking at the cluster plastric it's rite up under there.

Should b able to pull up and pull out the dash pad. be careful u don't chip the wood trim from the little metal eyelets on the bottom lip of the pad.
