I had a ripped inner rt side CV joint boot, I replaced complete axle with rebuilt,ring gear looked pristine, old ring gear looked horrible, first drive, after 5 miles, abs off light comes on, reset & it continues to come on, back home, I remove & clean ABS wheel speed sensor & position as far in as possible, which is where I thought it should be, abs off light comes on in the driveway, & abs "cycles" incorrectly, pedal is hard, then normal, eventually, after several tries, I position sensor as far out as possible, big improvement, but light still comes on, not as frequently, I remove & clean left side & position that further out, light still comes on but even less frequently, brakes were excellent before, most components, booster, MC, etc. replaced anyone??

The cap fits at the end of the sensor it's white.

I had the same problem with the ABS light,also I have the same car.. 87 5000 quattro

from the end of the sleev the sensor fits into. Can make all the difference.

I'll order the caps I really needed a new set of mats, with 347K the spot where the heel of my foot goes at the gas pedal is a big hole!!
