If you rode in the 'partsvagen', any jest is A-OK :)
A VW friend of mine rode in it for the first time this weekend (moved a mattress on top of the luggage rails). He said two things:
1) This thing has power! (stiffer WG spring)
and
2) Those are some scary noises coming from the back there! (rear suspension knocks a-plenty, fuel pump dying, interior rattling, etc.)
