Ahh, nuts. Radiator fan just started squeaking...
Noticed when I pulled into work today and the fan was running - a little high pitched squeaking.
I have an almost new one I scarfed at the junkyard (Tom Chudzinski, step away from the keyboard, you know I like junkyard parts). Guess I'll be installing that this weekend, might even change the coolant to one of those new colors like orange.
Trivia note: did you guys know the nut on the fan shaft that holds the fan to the motor is a reverse thread? Ask me how I know...

Have you considered putting in some new bearings?
I posted some info about this a couple of weeks ago. I found the info on Chris Millers site...
Might be worth it to know that you won't have to pull the fan again anytime soon...?
You gonna put in that nice clear coolant tank I gave you when you redo the coolant?
Good luck!

Geeez! That's amazing. How did you learn that?
Same way I did I bet. Did you cut a finger too? Man, just when you thought it was save to go back in the heat. I heard those bearings are a cheap fix on the fan motor. I can hardly wait for mine to start squeaking but my Audi waits patiently until it is at least ten below zero for those items to go.

Steve: about the sunroof ........
I posted this below but it may be missed. I have the same problem with only the flap coming up. I found a broken rail guide on the passenger side of mine. If you check it may be the same problem on yours. If so and it happens to be the driver side, I have one. I got one from the junkyard but the one I need was broken of course. Let me know.

Unsure...
but I'm leaning towards a motor problem...
I do have an extra motor and guides sitting in the basement...
This is one of the last things I plan on fixing at this point. I can live without a sunroof for awhile...

I forgot you can put in new bearings...
But I will check it out, thanks for the reminder. If she's too far gone I will send her to that great rad. fan graveyard in the sky, she's given 15 years of faithful service in West Virginia and the hot Georgia climate, so she really needs to be retired.
And yes, thanks, I will be putting in the rad. overflow tank you gave me. The Chinese knockoff lasted only two years before it started cracking.
