Default Air Conditioning

My AC system has a small leak and every year I have to add more refrigerant. It has been converted to R-134. Other than that, the system has been working fine. This year, after I added R-134, I don't get any cold air. The compressor is cycling and the refrigerant level is OK. Is there some sort of low refrigerant safety switch that gets activated when the level is low and needs to be reset after refilling???

The low pressure switch is passenger side under the plastic cowl below the windshield. When it closes the compressor will run.

My leak was at the condensor. Multiple spots had failed at the mounting bracket and at the high pressure switch at the bottom.

There is also a high side pressure switch which will also cause the compressor to cycle off. Is your fan running when the AC is on??? The fan must be running to help cool the condenser in order to lower the high side pressure.

Does your AC works on the highway, but stop working in city traffic? If the answer is yes then I would check the fan.
