Default Any front disc rotor faves (or hates)?

I plan to replace the (4-lug bolt) front rotors on my '84 5000S next week. (The right rotor has .002" runout; the left rotor has .015" runout.) I note that there are a variety of rotors available from a variety of sources. I'm leaning in favor of a slotted rotor.

Application is daily driving with 75% in heavy stop and go traffic. Warm to hot (south Florida) climate.

Does anyone have particularly good or bad experiences with a rotor manufacturer, vendor, and/or style rotor? Come to think of it, pad experiences welcomed as well.

i've got a set of ATE Powerdisk orbitally slotted rotors and PBR Metal Master pads. They work great, although the pads take longer than stock pads to heat up.

Default Zimmermann rotors and Remsa Gold pads.

Remsa Gold pads are the same brand that AudiSport uses and I use that combo as well and it rocks.

Default Re: How long...

do you have that combo on your car??? How many miles approx.?
A friend of mine was telling me that the ATE PowerDisk slotted rotors didn't last him long combined with Pagid pads. HE said "a year or so"...
what about your experience? I'm thinking about trying a set of ATE rotors.

Default Re: Rotors - are they X-drilled, slotted or plain normal?

Where do you buy them? I wouldn't want to buy some Thai imitation.

Default Currently i have...

Audi OEM rotors (got them from the dealer at $50 each) combined with Axxis/Repco Metal Masters brake pads.
I've had this combo for the last 3 years, 60k miles, and i still have 3-4mm left on the pads. Rotors do not show any visible wear. Normal amount of brake dust, exellent stopping power. I'm starting to get some shaky steering wheel at high speeds stopping but it's not that bad, yet.
