any one got a fuel pressure reg for my car

is the pressur regulator suppose to let presure go all at once or should it be gradual mine also seems to stick closed and open it will stay open until no pressure and then work some time and then build up a lot of pressure and stay stuck i
am refering to the external primary pressure reg. on the 200 turbo 89 not the control pressure reg
ok now im thinking that its just the residual preesur check that is building pressure and not the diaphram at all
