The biggest problem is that it's sagging because the foam has deteriorated. So re-gluing it is useless.
Everybody I know who've fixed them have taken them out stripped the foam off, re-gluing a new foam sheet and the factory cloth.
Watch a guy in Nashua N.H. at a company called Mr. Mobile or something.
They're out of business now but he did it in only 45 minutes.
And he charged the 5k owner $75.
The guy was excited and I was impressed because I thought the only remedy would be to replace it.
Hope this helps

That place went out of business in the late 90's.
But a friend of mine that worked their left to work for Richie's Cartoons.
I'm going to ask him for the guys name and location (because he's probably still in the same field and area).
I'll post asa I get any info.

"Headline fabric" with the foam attached is available at most fabric stores. Color selection is basic. Replacing it is time consuming but not high tech. Removing the old glue and deteriorated foam is the tough part. I used very coarse steel wool. It has been suggested that I should have just painted the old mess and applied over it. THis would have left a lot of foam "*****", I think they would have telegraphed through. The sunroof can be problematic.

I have an 87 5000CSTQ. My headliner sagged, then fell. Only took about 2 days from the start. I scraped as much of the foam off as I could and tried double stick carpet tape. It didn't work. Is there any electrical wiring I would need to be careful of in stapling it? It hangs so low I can't see out the back window. Any ideas on safely pulling a headliner out of an existing car if I can find one?
