If there is even such a thing? Having some custom exhaust snags and need to put a Cat back on to get my exhaust shop to do more work.

random technology makes nice high performance cats. used one before and noticed a difference right away on an older car of mine.

Default Actually thats worse than a correctly functioning stock cat.

The open chamber allows the exhaust flow to expand and swirl before exiting the other side...which creates backpressure. The large surface area also allows for a cooling effect that contributes to loss of exhaust velocity. BTTT

If you really dont want a cat but have to at least have the appearance of having one for visual inspections you can gut one and run a straight pipe though the center....it looks like a cat, operates as a testpipe. BTDT

Default Good to see you back among the living!

I figured you took one look at my car and hung yourself from the lift!

Default I replaced mine with straight pipe...

...but it does make a different noise now. When I accelerate, the pipes makes a "flapping" sound. Not sure how else to describe it. The cats were gutted before I replaced them, so obviously I didn't notice any performance difference.
