I'm in the process of replacing my window seal / door seal, you know the one that does all the way down the window tracks and has an felt covered edge.
I was able to remove some good looking ones from a newer 100 with the 5000 body style.
But I'm not sure about putting it on my car,
I'm sure that I have to take my door apart, but is there a TRICK to replacing it, use soap, tools ??
Has anybody BTDT ??
Thanks,
LarryF_in_Ca

But if you choose to ignore that like the rest of us...
"Window slot molding, installing
- push plastic holding rail "5" (you need the image to figure that out so try looking at what you have) into place between door flange "1" and retaining clips.
- push window slot molding "2" onto plastic holding rail.
- install end cap.
- reinstall all mirror components in reverse order of removal. (Duh)
- check mirrors for proper operation.
Seems pretty straight forward. Any reason you can see for the warning about reusing the old trim?

Patience is important for this job, to avoid tearing the trim. Just soak the tracks in which the molding resides with lots of silicone spray.

It's just a 6 inch long, 3/4 inch square, hunk of delrin (very tough, almost unbreakable, very expensive white colored plastic, sort of nylon-like) shaped like a long gently curved wedge. It's a 3/4 inch wide point on one end. I bought it locally for $16, which seemed expensive, but it has paid for itself.
I find that it's handy for pushing or prying breakable pieces such as interior trim, without scratching them or their surroundings.
