Audi 200 disconnect the turbo?

Audi 200 disconnect the turbo?
I was wondering if anyone has even removed their turbo and ran their car like that. My seals in the turbo are bad and the oil lines are leaking and was thinking to just take everything out. What would be involved?

Easier just to plug the oil lines and let the turbo die, then drive it. Are you planning on replacing the turbo at some point?

If it ran ok without the turbo I would think about just leaving it that way. I am out of work and have no money to spend on the car right now. I had an 96 5000s non-turbo, would the my 200 with the turbo not working have similar performance?

Probably less performance since the compression ratio on Turbo engines are lower then the compression ratio on non turbo engines.
