Audi no start - another question - update

I did the compression test here are the results:
1. test 120 • 150 • 165 • 140 •140
2. test 125 • 160 • 170 • 150 • 145
3. test 130 • 160 • 170 •150 •145
I also reset the timing again - just in case it did jump (it did not look like it) I put it ahead a notch and back a notch - but this did not make a difference there is still the same problem.
I am so open to any suggestions -
Thanks

Here are my 2 previous posts from the last few days • I did the dry compression test as listed but the wet compression test actually shows much lower compression??
1990 Audi 100 - 2.3 NF engine
Post 1
Car was running good, while parking it the idle went way down and it stalled (like a major vacuum leak) • cannot get it to start again.
Lots of gas, good spark, timing is on, good ground
checked all vacuum lines they look in very good condition
Sometimes (while trying to start) backfires into intake
2nd post
car is running / idling on 4 cylinders. As soon as I put sparkplug wire on cylinder #3 engine stalls and backfires into intake.
Advise? Thanks

well if there are not vacuum leaks, the engine needs two things to happen. one is fuel, and two is spark. have you touched your distributor? that will cause the spark timing to be out of sync. what do your spark plugs look like? have you considering replacing plugs/wires/distributor?

disregard wet compression test - timing was a bit off - set timing did the "wet" test again and compression came to : 170-195-215-180-180 starting from the first cylinder
this does not point to a valve problem ?????

check the distributor and rotor, you could have a crack or carbon deposite which is causing your engine to cross fire when you connect number 3 cylinder wire. How does the engine run on four cylinders firing??? Otherwise recheck your firing order. Get the engine to TDC and remove the distributor cap. Verify that the rotor is pointing to number one cylinder, otherwise rotate the distributor until it is pointing to number one cylinder.
Distributor cap and rotor are fairly cheap so I would just change it as regular mainentance.
