Default Audi v8 1990

Just picked up a twin for my v8 .

The paint is in better shape by far. The hood has about 75% LESS chips by the grill. Sunroof works, and doesn't bind when I use it. Transmission has a dipstick . All the rubber moldings around the headlights are not cracked or faded. No vibration at idle. And most importantly, the engine doesn't surge.

All that is listed above will be transplanted to my original v8 (other than the engine), because the interior is by far in better shape, has about 25k less miles, tinted windows, bbs rims, and a working instrument cluster.

Can anyone offer advice to what I can use to fix the idle on my original v8? Is there a part I should swap, or something to adjust?

Also the surge I get when I accelerate? Maybe a Relay? It seems to be in limp mode because all the gear lights are lit on instrument cluster.

Advice?

Thanks

What's the matter with the idle on your original V8?

Have you replaced the O2 sensor?

Have you cleaned the ISV?

Been meaning to replace the O2 sensor. Haven't cleaned anything.

Replaced the Idle control valve twice to no avail .

The idle is really rough, but when my rpm picks up to about 1000 it evens out?
