Default governer?!

will this cause a problem?! i called a local Audi shop and they said it could be a governor problem. Looking at the tranny in the car .. can i take it out and clean it w/o dropping the transmission itself. Practice makes perfect but i'm getting tired of it.

Default Odd problem indeed. Happened once to me about two years ago.

Normal morning start-up and this time I pulled foward out of my driveway. The car would not shift out of first for almost a mile. Not once has this problem happened since and the trans works fine with about 100,000 miles on it...

Default Check the fluid level...The 3spds can develop a leak, which causes the level to drop

if the level drops, it will not shift correctly. BTDT on our old '87 5kS. Could not tell the trans was loosing fluid. I forget which seal it was (this was back in 1996 I think?)...

Default No, valve body. Part inside transmission that directs fluid flow to various bits, resulting in gear

changes and torque converter lock-up. If my understanding is correct anyway.

Default Re: No, valve body. Part inside transmission that directs fluid flow to various bits, resulting in

how do it get to it. i'm planning on dropping the tranny to clean the governor for "fun" to make sure its not a question. Fluid is good. The valve body to my understanding is one the differntial part of the tranny? i'll pop it open to check her out.
