wow when will it end? i wish i could sue for pain and suffering
, the guys who tested my alternator at the factory must have been smoking something. if anybody has been with me lately they would know i took my old alternator out, put the new one in, took the new one out and replaced regulator, put back in and it still dosent work i guess i have to take it out again and send it back and get another one and put that one in. mostlikely after that i'll find out its the wiring thats wrong or something

if you are buying a remanufacturerd unit..........
it is very easy to get a bad one. BTDT. If you are getting one at a store like Auto Zone, have the new unit put on their in store test machine. Hopefully test results will tell you that you are getting a good unit.

Re: has anybody had an instance where the alternator is good , but
I can say this, my Alt is fuct... the bearings are going/almost gone. When I start my car I get really low voltage, like below 12 but if I turn the lights on like 5 seconds after starting the car the the voltage spikes up to 14 or so. I turn the lights back off and it stays at or around 14. I'm guessing it has to with the exciter wire combined with the bad alternator. Maybe you're having problems with the exciter wire being screwed up somehow.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Does you battery light come on momentarily when you start the car or turn the key on?
If not you have a problem.
1. Battery light bulb is burned out and alternator will not charge your battery.
2. Exciter wiring problem
3. Alternator needs attention
