Default Ben swann is a very nice guy.......need BPV

I spoke with him this afternoon about his chip and spring. he was very helpful. I am sending him my ecu pretty soon so he can install the chip. I am also buying the 1.8 spring. Since I have the front of the car pretty much dismantled (the yard is a mess) I might as well install the the bpv while I wait for the valve job to be done. Does anyone know what bpv to use? is it an Audi part? or aftermarket?

Default Use the Bosch 110 valve...

I've had good results using it and it is cheap from PMC...

I can't remember if the 110 valve is from the TT or a Porsche turbo...?

Otherwise you can use a aftermarket BPV like Hyperboost, Forge, Bailey, etc. These are lifetime valves but cost $150+...

Default The Bosch part number you want is 0 280 142 110

Go to www.thepartsbin.com, then look under SAAB parts. It is the one used on the Viggen. Should be about $25. Rated up to 20 psi.

Default I might even have one in the garage.

It's a little late tonight, but I'll check tomorrow. I replaced the one's in my 2.7T with forge valves and I think I kept the originals. If I've still got them, I'll send you one.

The 2.7t didn't use 110's IIRC, but either the 710A or 710N. But, the 110 is "identical" to the 114 (aka 710N).

You're right. I thought I had kept the set of 710N's but I must have tossed them. My 2.7 came came stock with the A's and then I switched to the N's, finally went to Forge trying to eliminate the honking.

hmm...I thought that the 710N's were the factory solution to the "honking" ? But, I guess any of the factory style BPV's can be afflicted with the honk.

I take it you are happy with the Forge setup? It, an N75 race valve, and a new exhaust REEAALLY helped the A4tq my roommate has (he had gone with just an APR S-1 chip prior). 230-ish HP in a 3100lb car (lightened a bit) works pretty well.
