Is the blower motor ?
1989 Audi 200 T, auto.
When the key is turned on, some fan motor starts up and stays on, when I push the heater buttons, the heater motor quietly starts, but the other is still going strong.
Looked at all the archives, 99% are NO air or different cycling, not hard full blast. except SJM mentioned something about jumping something to make it race full blast (checking why the blower didn't work !).
Other options ALL related to non working fans were, Relays, Resistors, Blower motors.
Any help would be great.

Re: Is the blower motor ?
There's a fan attached to the sensor behind the little grille in the center of the dashboard that measures cabin temperature. It's usually pretty quiet until starting to get old enough to act up. Normal acting up is a lot of squealing noises.

Re: Is the blower motor ?
just disconnect it ?
is not so much a squeal as full on fan, sounds exactly like Rad fan on full blast.
Maybe its the Air Con, some problem with the off switch in the climate control head ?
or is there some auto setup where its trying to bring the cabin tempature to a certain comfort level, its still summer here.

Re: Is the blower motor ?
The fan in the dash is quite small. I wouldn't think it would sound like the radiator fan on full blast. Have you checked under the hood? Maybe it's the radiator fan???? If you have warm ambient temperatures and have the climate control set to auto, the radiator fan will run.
