Bomb dead after only several months???
Hello, Type44ers!
Anybody has an idea what can be the reason of a bomb to die that quick? Let me start with describing what have been replaced in a power brake/power steering system: brand new master brake cylinder, "new" reman power steering pump, brand new bomb, new brake fluid, new pentosin fluid, all withing maybe a year or so. Now to the problem, it's acting really weird: if the car sits for more than 8 hours and the ambient temperature is let's say below 60F, I will get a beeping/flashing "brake" triangle on my dash for a few seconds after starting the car, it does not happen if it warmer outside. "Bomb" test does not show any dead bomb symptomps, after I shut down the car I can pump the brakes till my leg gets sore and the pedal does not get hard as it would with a bad bomb. Although if I pump the break pedal really hard few times right after the beeping/flashing brake symbol on the dash dissapears I will get another warning light again for a few seconds. I know it might sound confusing, but I hope you understand what I'm trying to describe. What I can't understand is it seems like the bomb is capable of holding the pressure but only during really warm days. Brakes are working fine (to the extent of their not-so-great design), pedal feel is normal, a little harder comparing to my other car but It's been like this for all these years I owened it.
I really hope it;s not a brake booster which is probably $500 part and is getting harder and harder to find.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

It's possible....
I've heard that some new bombs fail much sooner than the originals. Most bombs fail because the nitrogen charge leaks out through the diaphragm over time. Problem is that it will do the same on the shelf as hurtling down the highway. That's why I went with a rechargeable one. If yours passes the test, though, the flashing warning may be from something else, like a faulty sensor, broken wiring, etc. I'd consult the Bentley and follow some wires....

Re: It's possible....
could also be the brake booster also ... which is just behind the master brake cyl. There is a lead which connects to this, if you unplug one of them and turn the ignition on, and don't see the triangle it could be that the bomb is not able to hold the charge (do the pedal test with car off), or the booster leaks or has some issue ...

The way to test the booster is to disconnect the return line from the booster to the central hydraulics reservoir. If you get a few drops of Pentosin out, the booster is basically OK. If you get a steady stream, the booster is toast.

I got mine years ago from Russ Southerlin....
he's not doing them anymore. I've heard that somebody is doing them in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area....but can't remember who. If you post on Audifans I'm sure somebody will be doing them there.

bingo
suppose the hydraulic pump could be on the way out too...
the one sensor throws the light if hydraulic pressure is too low. It should be ~140 bar, if I'm not mistaken.
