got a master today (THANK YOU STEVE!!!) Installed it, bled everything... over and over.. no pedal.. gravity bled the brakes, pedal is up they work "ok", try conventional bleeding... nothing.. re-gravity bleed.. all is "ok" Brakes work but feel soft.. maybe it's just me because the old master was locking up. Going to drive it a few days and see. Anyone have any BTDT with a simalar problem bleeding these monsters?? (Note we don't have a power bleeder...)

I had to have someone pump it up every once in a while, but the fluid started coming through really fast while they were pumping. Ours cars should be pressure bled because of the ABS. This way ended up being easier than the pump the pedal method anyway.

I did the pedal pump method, which worked pretty well. Pedal feel is actually quite good, much better than it ever was (brand spankin new MC, fresh Valvoline Synthetic DOT4)...

from a pressurized sprayer for pesticides.
There is a consumer pressure bleeder on the market for $79. It's nothing more than a garden variety pesticide sprayer that can be found at any hardware store for ~$15. Granted, the $79 unit came with a pressure gauge and a couple of caps.
But you can add a gauge if you are handy, and pick up some caps at any junk yard for a variety of cars.
But I like Moving Violation's idea, so simple. Gotta make myself one this weekend!
I have a mini Zefal bike pump that would be perfect for it. Also, a CO2 cartridge inflator would work too, eliminating any moisture from the air from mixing. But regulating pressure is harder.
FYI: Don't pump more than 15psi while pressure bleeding, risk cracking the reservoir.<ul><li><a href="http://www.truevalue.com/index.cfm?action=shoppingProductDetail&intProd uctID=23725&CFID=21053678&CFTOKEN=27c27cb-e8406a45-5ce1-4a9d-b29b-c73e45b6b318">half gallon pressurized sprayer</a></li></ul>

it did have a slow leak, so I didn't have to worry about blowing up the system. I could have tightened it down more, but my wife pumped and we went through a full liter of brake fluid very quickly (thats how long it took to get all the sludge out). Afterwards I thought that you could hook up a compressor to it and do it with 1 man easily, just have the on/off switch at the ready so you don't over pressurize. At that speed just remember to refill the MC often. bleeding brakes made easy!
