Bypass the Fuel Pressure accumulator?
Has anyone done this? Have my 5000sq as my beater and I dont feel like spending a few hundred dollars to fix my leaky accumulator. Someone told me that I can just take it out and connect the fuel lines. What connections do I need? Thanks

It is my understanding that the accumulator can be removed... but...
it acts as a pressure reservoir and also decreases the pulses inherrent in the system from the pump action. I don't know what effect that may have on the CIS dizzy but I would imagine that the pulsing might wreak havoc with A/F mixtures.

Re: Bypass the Fuel Pressure accumulator?
Get a used one... Hassle of cobbing up lines vs. a fairly inexpensive replacement (used) doesn't really make it worthwhile to bypass. biggest problem on these is rust, generally not internal failure. Have replaced a bunch of them, not really that expensive.

Re: do you understand what a fuel pressure regulator does?!
Yeah it regulates the fuel pressure going to the injectors. The reason I asked is because the guy at Force 5 gave me the suggestion.
