im having a key crisis with this thing. As in i lost the key for it. It's either swap an ignition that I have a key for, or pay a locksmith to make me a key.
Godd new is my tranny cable will be in tomarrow, and i'll know if the tranny shifts then.

fastest and easiest way with limited tools is to swap the whole column tho.. to change the lock requires power and a dremel tool

If you're feeling lucky why not just remove one of the door locks and take it to a locksmith to have a key cut. This is assuming that the door uses the same key as the ignition.

Better to just have a locksmith cut you a key rather than replacing the lock.

Isn't the code stamped on the doorhandles like the old VW's?

and I know my drivers side handle does not accept my ignition key. But the pwr locks work when I press down on the door lock.
