Default cold start issues?

875KTQ It has started struggling at start-up. Only thing I can liken it to is a similar condition a friend of mine had with an old VW bug... he had to spray some kind of engine start into the carb. to get it to turn over. My audi is making the same sort of labored start: seems to have good power, it just takes forever to get it to finally turn over. ??? Thanks

Default Have you checked fuel pressure drop?.......

Maybe a bad fuel pump check valve? Does the cold start valve work? To test the CSV you can just take it out, leave it connected and hit the starter. Does it spray? How old is the fuel filter? Just a few thoughts.

Default Try placing a fuse in the pump relay location. Pump should come on immediately...

when the ignition is switched on if I recall correctly. Leaky injectors will let the pressure fall so having the fuel pump kick in right away might help.

Default To h*ll with relying on CSV being controlled by ECU, I gave up several...

years ago and glad I did! ran power to the CSV (splice in) and put a push button under the dash to activate it while starting. I spent too many hours trying to trace te problem. I know there are proceedures on tracing it down as described in previous posts but I did this b4 I tuned in to this board. I have (and had) more pressing problems to spend my time on.

My 1992 100 V6 has alot of trouble starting when its hot. Should I Do what you did and manually control the CSV? If so, could you give me as detailed instructions on doing so as you can? I would greatly appreciate it, sometimes the car absolutly won't start when hot.
Thanks alot!
