Since Steve J. recently mentioned how problematic old crankcase hoses can be, I thought I'd post some info I've found about improving the crankcase system...
Even with a new CC hose, it a poor design.
Here's a couple ideas of what people are doing on thier type 44's.
Here's some pics:

"Modified crankcase ventillation: a wire loom is fitted inside the large main hose coming from the engine. The loom works pretty well as an oil seperator and prevents the hose from collapsing under heavy vacuum. Some "T" & "L" fittings from GARDENA garden tools (www.gardena.de) where used in addition, in order to prevent from oil entering the intake system."

The MC and MC2 engine use a different sized hose than the NF, etc. Won't fit.

I wanted out with my ISV ... but I had to make sure there was a hose going from the crankcase to the intake and back again .. or something ?? All I know is that I had to get it just right till the car started. But no ISV as of now for me.
