Dash lights out + Occasional no start = Ignition Switch?

Dash lights out + Occasional no start = Ignition Switch?

Default well... if your dash lights are out due to an ignition switch... you car will never start.

what I mean is that, if your ignition switch won't even work in the first position... no way will it start the car. That being said, I have never seen an ignition switch fail in all of the positions... just start position.

If your dash lights are out and the car will start - its not the switch its probably a loose connection/ground etc.

If the two are tied together, yes, suspect the switch.

Also - if you jiggle the key and it starts... also suspect the switch.


Only replace the switch with an OEM unit or else you will regret it. This is your one and only warning.

Thanks.Found blown 5A fuse. Popped in a 10A & looking at replacing the "cluster voltage regular"
