Dead Tach...What (else) to check?
'86 5ktq....150k miles.
This car seems to be the never-ending fix-er up'r. Trying to get this thing road worthy again....(so it tends to sit a lot between work sessions).
Anyway, my tach just died a month or two ago. It worked fine all the previous times when all the sudden it just quit. I can't get it to even flicker now. All other guages work fine and the car starts and drives fine.
Doing some searching I see grounds can cause this. I checked the ground on top of the IM, near the ISV. It's fine..cleaned it just for good measure. NO CHANGE!
I checked for a ground near the engine mounts but couldn't find one. Where are the other grounds I need to check??? Any other items I need to check??
