Does a manual tranny from a type 43 or a 4000 fit a type 44?

Default yup but....

I've put a quattro tranny from a 83 coupe into a 200 before. there are minor differences, you have to switch the shifter stabilizer arm mounting point. You just unscrew it and there another hole to screw it back into a few inches away on the tranny. You'll also need to swap the rear diff to one from a 200, you need the 4.10:1 ratio one. 4000 quattro's a use 4.10:1 ratio tranny and rear diff. And 5000 quattros used 3.8x:1 final drive's for better highway cruising.
