Default fan noise

Sometimes the fan that runs after driving comes on as a quiet squeeling sound rather than the usual deep and louder sound. It almost sounds as though the fan is hitting something but i dont know for sure. Any ideas?

Default Re: fan noise

My 87 5ktq does the same thing, it's injector cooling fan thats goin bad, I replaced mine and it's back to normal. This fan also helps flush the hot air away from the hot turbo, which is good.

Default Umm, I would check the fan for play, bearings on rad fan may be shot...

On the 5k's, if the rad fan seized it would oftentimes melt the front harness (harness is either NLA or $$$$, can't remember). They fused the fan on the 200's, but if you lose the cooling fan stuck in traffic and the sucker overheats, well, let me just say that blown head gaskets and warped heads do not make me very happy.

Just an FYI...
