Actually, it is. It looks lihe it's either an RS2 motor, or RS2 parts (intake plenum at least). Porsche designed much (if not all) of the plumbing, intake, turbo, and did the brakes for the RS2 in the early 1990's. Plenum and brake calipers were labeled Porsche as well. That's an Audi 5cyl under that hood, just the most potent one ever made for sreet use. It's the holy grail of Audi motors, in my personal opinion, I just love the 5's

Damn, I knew the 5cyl is a strong motor, but damn. Does that mean that my driving on the freeway @ 5 to 5.5 k rpm is just fine on my motor? I have a 1991 100 with an auto the is in "limp home" mode, 3rd only. I have a 2hr trip to and from to make, and I havn't been able to address the tranny yet. I've had it on the freeway, sustained for 10-15 min @ 6000 and it doesn't seem to mind...
