Finally fixed that airbag light.....

I just de-soldered one side of the airbag warning light and taped it back up to shut it off. It was staying on for a couple minutes but I figured it would be on all the time with the airbag gone.

I got it on ebay from a guy in Hong Kong. I wonder what kind of car it was on.
I bought a Momo hub adapter from another ebay seller. Those adapters are kind of crapy but useable.
Love the wheel though. Really makes the wagon sporty!!

hate to sound like a noob, but what else is involved in "fixing the airbag light" besides changing the steering wheel? I don't need to change my wheel, but do need to get that light out. If it makes a difference, I have a 91 200 20vt

Well to do it the right way you need to have the codes cleared with a vag-com (audi diagnostic tool).
I shut the warning light out by removing the instrument cluster and de-soldering the bulb for the light.
